Event Brief

Indonesia's telecommunications market continues to exhibit robust growth, driven by increasing mobile subscriptions, strategic investments in infrastructure, and the expansion of 5G services. The Indonesian Telecom market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 1.01% over the forecast period (2024-2029), reaching USD 14.36 billion by 2029.

Batam plays a strategic role in Indonesia’s telecommunications and connectivity industry as a key digital gateway between Indonesia and international networks. Its proximity to Singapore, a global tech and data hub, makes it an ideal location for submarine cable landing stations, data centers, and network interconnection points. With increasing investments in fiber optics, data centers, and 5G infrastructure, Batam is emerging as a critical hub for regional connectivity, cloud services, and digital transformation in Indonesia.

Hence, Batam Interconnect World Forum 2025 presents itself as the premier platform to explore the vast opportunities within Batam and Indonesia’s booming telecommunications and connectivity industry. Bringing together industry leaders, investors, and technology innovators, this event will provide insights into infrastructure developments, digital transformation, and cross-border connectivity. Whether you're looking to expand your network, gain market intelligence, or seize new investment prospects, this forum is your gateway to Indonesia’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

Closing Panel: Decarbonization: The Next Big Challenge in a Secure and Sustainable Digital Infrastructure Economy

As digital infrastructure expands to support AI, cloud, and interconnectivity at massive scale, the challenge is no longer growth—but how to grow sustainably and securely. While decarbonization is critical to achieving global climate goals, it must be balanced with the need for resilient, cyber-secure systems. As data centers and networks become increasingly software-defined and energy-interactive, the attack surface widens, and the stakes grow higher.

1. What are the most viable decarbonization strategies for data centers and digital infrastructure in the next decade?
2. How do we ensure that renewable integration and grid-interactive technologies don’t compromise cybersecurity?
3. Can AI infrastructure be both energy-intensive and environmentally responsible?
4. How are ESG pressures and cyber risk mitigation shaping design, procurement, and operations?
5. What role does cybersecurity play in securing smart grids, microgrids, and digital energy platforms?
How can infrastructure leaders strike a balance between speed, sustainability, and security—without trade-offs?

Peering Forum

As part of the Batam Interconnect World Forum 2025, we invite senior decision-makers across BFSI, hyperscale, and digital platform industries to an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at Nongsa Digital Park (NDP)—Indonesia’s emerging digital gateway in Batam.

Nongsa Digital Park (NDP) is an ideal site for digital businesses to grow, data center development (Uptime Institute tier III certified), and residential facilities that will blend ideally with the current Nongsa Resorts operated by the Citramas Group. Located on the high topography in Eastern Batam and away from the seismic fault lines, NDP offers a much safer geographical location for data centers. With the total development area set at 166 ha, NDP has existing developments including Turi Beach Resort, Nongsa Point Marina, Nongsa Village, Nongsapura Ferry Terminal, Kinema Movie & Animation Studio, and Golf Course.
